VOLUNTEER WORK

Christmas in April: nation-wide not-for-profit organization that makes home repairs for elderly & low-income adults.

 
One Saturday in April people volunteer from 8 a.m.- 5p.m. This year, more than 1,700 volunteered! Floor Layers from Local 1310, along with other unions, volunteer their skills to this project.
 

Several Area unions donated their skills and materials for a room addition for Mindy Mayer-a 10 year-old who was paralyzed in an auto accident two years ago.

Gateway to a cure: St. Louis- based organization that raises funds for paralysis research. The Carpenters' District-St. Louis received this award for all their time and work for Mindy Mayer.

Meramec Educational Foundation: not-for-profit organization that tutors inner-city boys and girls. Floor Layers donated two weeks of work and supplies to redo the floors.
